Tejashwi Yadav Demands FIR and CBI Investigation in Bihars Vimal Kumar Murder Case

Patna, August 3: Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition in Bihar, has criticized the state government following the murder of Vimal Kumar, the executive officer of the Dehri-Dalmianagar Municipal Council in Aurangabad district. Yadav spoke with the victim’s wife over the phone, offering condolences and assuring her that his party would stand by the family in their fight for justice.

He emphasized that the opposition would not remain silent until a named FIR is filed against the accused legislator and a fair investigation is conducted. Yadav pointed out that this marks the second murder of an official during Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary’s tenure, raising serious questions about law and order in the state. He claimed that the victim’s wife has alleged that a ransom of 50 lakh rupees was demanded, and her husband was killed for not paying it.

Yadav questioned whether the government would adopt the same approach against the accused legislator as it did after the previous murder of an official, which led to an encounter. He accused the state government of providing protection to criminals and attempting to influence the investigation.

The RJD leader noted that senior police officials making statements before the investigation is complete raises several concerns. He alleged that this could be an attempt to divert the case’s direction. Yadav has called for a CBI and judicial inquiry into the murder and demanded security for the victim’s family. He stated that his party would soon meet with the deceased’s relatives and stand with them in their quest for justice.

On social media platform ‘X’, he criticized the government, highlighting that this is the second murder of an official in Bihar within a few days. He reiterated that the family has accused an NDA legislator of demanding a 50 lakh rupee ransom and orchestrating the murder. He also pointed out that police officials made statements immediately after the incident, which appeared to exonerate the accused legislator from the investigation.

It is reported that Vimal Kumar was murdered late at night near the Dhanouti bridge in the Barun police station area of Aurangabad district. According to police, he was traveling from Dehri to Patna in his car when unidentified assailants stopped his vehicle and assaulted him, leading to his death. The police have initiated an investigation and arrested the driver for questioning. Serious injuries were found on the victim’s body, and the investigation is ongoing.
