Iran Warns Bahrain Against Allowing Attacks from Its Territory

New York, October 6 (Daily Kiran) : Iran has issued a stern warning to Bahrain and other Gulf nations, advising them not to allow their territory or airspace to be used for attacks against the Islamic Republic. Tehran made it clear that any such actions would not go unanswered.

Ali Karimi Magham, the second secretary of Iran’s permanent mission to the United Nations, addressed the issue during a session of the UN’s Third Committee on Monday. He responded to statements made by a Bahraini representative, accusing Bahrain of ignoring the context of recent events while discussing human rights.

Karimi Magham stated that Bahrain has never been a direct victim of Iranian attacks. However, he pointed out that by supporting the United States against Iran, Bahrain has made its land, bases, and airspace available for military actions. He emphasized that countries that provide their territory for war against their neighbors must be prepared for the consequences. If Iran retaliates in the future, they should not be surprised.

He further asserted that Bahrain is not a victim, as it has facilitated the U.S.’s illegal war against Iran. The Iranian representative clarified that Iran did not initiate the conflict but was responding to attacks against it. He reiterated that any future use of territory by neighboring countries for attacks on Iran would provoke a strong response.

Addressing the Bahraini representative, Karimi Magham outlined two choices for the region: to work together for security or to remain insecure. He warned that Bahrain had previously chosen the latter option, and if it continues down that path, it should expect different consequences this time around.

Tehran has been uneasy about the U.S. military presence in Bahrain. In June and July 2026, Iran claimed to have targeted U.S. military installations in Bahrain. Reports from international media and Bahraini military sources indicated that Iran had attacked the capital, Manama, and the headquarters of the U.S. Fifth Fleet located there.
