Patna, March 12: Tejashwi Yadav, the national executive president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and leader of the opposition in the Bihar Assembly, has sharply criticized the NDA’s double-engine government. He raised the question of why Bihar has lagged behind in all development metrics during the 21 years of NDA rule.
On Thursday morning, he released a list on social media highlighting where Bihar has progressed and where it has fallen short. He asked, “What has the NDA accomplished in 21 years?” This list served as a response to the public.
In his post, he stated that Bihar is a unique state that has been under the NDA’s double-engine government for decades. The list pointed out several alarming statistics: Bihar is the poorest state in the country, has the highest rates of migration, crime, corruption, unemployment, and multidimensional poverty, as well as the highest school dropout rates and the lowest literacy rate. Additionally, it has the lowest per capita income in India.
He further noted, “Bihar has the lowest farmers’ income, the least per capita investment, the lowest per capita consumption, the lowest computer literacy, the least electricity consumption, and the least basic amenities.”
Tejashwi Yadav claimed that Bihar is “leading” in purchasing expensive gas, electricity, petrol, and diesel, and has higher property prices than Delhi and Mumbai.
He emphasized that under 21 years of NDA governance, Bihar ranks at the bottom in all development standards and indicators, yet there has been no accountability for these disgraceful facts and rankings. He criticized the political class for enjoying power through vote-buying, administrative manipulation, and caste-based governance.
