Kolkata, June 12: Suspended spokesperson of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Rijju Dutta, has commended the work of West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. Speaking to a news agency, he stated, “Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is working at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour. His development initiatives are being appreciated. Industries are returning to the state. Soon, we will witness development in West Bengal.”
Dutta remarked, “Since the new government took office, work has been ongoing in Bengal. No one can claim that nothing is happening here. Amul is investing. From the Chief Minister to the Industry Minister, everyone is saying that Tata is coming back. All railway stations are being cleaned, and work is underway at the Ganga ghats. We need to give this new government a little time.”
Regarding reports that 19 out of 20 TMC MPs are supporting the NDA, Dutta said that everyone was aware this would happen. A significant meeting of these MPs is scheduled for Sunday, which may include Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. On Monday, these MPs will meet Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to inform him that they are forming a separate group and will support the NDA in the national interest.
Commenting on the repeated summons of Abhishek Banerjee by the CID, Dutta said that the CID will likely continue to call him regularly. He was interrogated for six hours on Thursday and may be summoned again on Sunday. This pattern could persist. He emphasized that action should be taken against anyone in West Bengal who has committed wrongdoing.
He also suggested that some officials in West Bengal might be involved, and an investigation should be conducted to ensure that the accused are swiftly brought to justice and the truth is revealed to the public.
