New Delhi, July 23: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has responded to claims made by Union Health Minister JP Nadda regarding the SSB paper leak. Abdullah acknowledged the incident, stating it occurred in 2022. He emphasized that during that time, the government in Jammu and Kashmir was not led by the National Conference and Congress, but was under the administration of the Lieutenant Governor.
Following Nadda’s press conference, Abdullah took to social media platform ‘X’ on Thursday morning. He wrote, “JP Nadda ji, your statement about the SSB paper leak in Jammu and Kashmir is indeed correct, but you have the date wrong. This incident took place in 2022.”
He further added, “The government was not of the NC (National Conference) and Congress. It was under the leadership of the Lieutenant Governor. Thank you for bringing attention to this failure.”
Abdullah pointed out that the Jammu and Kashmir High Court had made comments and issued orders regarding the matter. He questioned the status of the high-level committee and its report, suggesting that Nadda could share this information in his next press conference.
JP Nadda had addressed the issue of paper leaks during a press conference on Wednesday evening, responding to opposition uproar regarding the NEET paper leak. He raised concerns about paper leaks in non-NDA governed states, including Jammu and Kashmir.
Nadda stated, “Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi presented in Parliament, mentioning nearly 150 paper leaks. This is a matter for investigation, and our government will present its stance and facts to the public regarding every aspect of this issue. The truth will emerge based on the investigation, ensuring clarity.”
He highlighted the paper leak incident involving the Service Selection Board examination in Jammu and Kashmir, where he claimed the government was led by Congress and the National Conference. Nadda also mentioned paper leaks and exam irregularities in Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Punjab, Kerala, and Karnataka.
The Union Minister questioned Rahul Gandhi’s selective approach to the paper leak issue, asking, “Why hasn’t Rahul Gandhi discussed the UPA and UPA-supported governments?”
