Supriya Sule Questions Government on Pellet Gun Orders and Other Issues

Mumbai, August 21: NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule raised several concerns on Friday, questioning both the central and Maharashtra BJP governments. She reiterated her demand for the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the recent baton charge incident in Delhi. Sule also addressed issues regarding the transparency of the PM CARES Fund, alleged donation fraud, the BJP’s stance on Gen Z, the actions of the flying squad concerning the Marathi language, and the orders for pellet guns.

Regarding the baton charge that occurred on July 20 in Delhi, Sule stated that her party has long been advocating for an SIT to be established. This demand has been consistently voiced from the beginning. If the government had accepted this demand earlier, there could have been a meaningful discussion on the matter in the assembly. The India Alliance has also insisted from day one that an SIT be formed for a fair investigation. The public has the right to know who ordered the pellet guns, and the government must answer this question.

On the PM CARES Fund, Sule emphasized that her party has been demanding transparency since its inception. She questioned what the government has to hide and insisted that all information should be made public. She also referred to a recent theft incident at a temple, noting that many channels had aired videos of the event. If a theft did occur, it raises questions about how the involved parties were given a clean chit.

Commenting on BJP leaders’ remarks about Gen Z, Sule expressed her surprise at the party’s apparent disdain for the new generation. She referenced RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat‘s statement, which described Gen Z as an honest generation. On one hand, they are labeled as honest, while on the other, the BJP attempts to portray them as corrupt.

Sule also criticized the BJP for its use of agencies like the Income Tax Department, CBI, and ED. She alleged that the manner in which these agencies have been utilized has not been seen in decades.

Addressing the Pune police’s activity concerning Rahul Gandhi, Sule questioned their responsiveness. She noted that when incidents of harassment, gang violence, murder, and rape occur in Pune, the police do not seem as active. Rahul Gandhi is visiting Pune to engage with children, yet questions arise about police activity.

On the ongoing dispute between Ajit Pawar and Sharad Pawar factions, Sule stated that this is not merely an internal matter for their opponents but a constitutional battle for her party. The case is being fought vigorously in the Supreme Court. Sharad Pawar, the founding member and president of the party, deserves recognition. This struggle is not just for Sharad Pawar or the NCP but for the democratic and constitutional values of the country.

Regarding the flying squad’s actions concerning the Marathi language in Maharashtra, Sule asserted that intimidation is not the right approach. Those who do not speak Marathi should be supported in learning, with good apps and training provided. She urged the government to ensure that the language learning process is filled with love and trust, rather than fear and pressure.
