Visakhapatnam, August 21: Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), is set to embark on a tour of the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. This visit aims to address the misinformation and misconceptions surrounding India, Hindus, and the RSS, according to a senior leader from the organization.
C.R. Mukund, the joint general secretary of the RSS, shared details about Bhagwat’s upcoming tour during a media briefing following a three-day all-India coordination meeting held in Gudilova, near Visakhapatnam.
This tour is part of the RSS’s efforts to expand its global reach in its centenary year. Mukund stated that the organization is working to spread positive narratives about India, Hindus, and the RSS across various societies worldwide.
The visit has three primary objectives: First, to present a factual and positive perspective amidst the widespread misconceptions and propaganda about India, Hindu society, and the RSS. Second, to promote the message of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and global unity, as taught by ancient Indian sages. Lastly, to foster dialogue with mainstream societies regarding the interests and rights of Hindus and people of Indian origin living in different countries.
During his visit, Bhagwat will participate in the ‘Universal Oneness’ program in New York, as well as community leadership programs in Toronto and London.
The all-India coordination meeting included Bhagwat, RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, BJP President Nitin Naveen, and other key officials from the RSS and its affiliated organizations. This annual meeting saw participation from 306 out of 326 invited representatives, including 49 women.
Mukund reported that discussions covered the current state of the country and society, the work being done by various organizations, their experiences, future challenges, and upcoming action plans. The meeting also reviewed community service and rehabilitation efforts during natural disasters.
Information was shared about relief and rehabilitation work carried out by various organizations and activists, including the National Service Bharti, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, National Medicos Organization (NMO), Arogya Bharti, and the BJP, during the severe floods in Assam.
Additionally, the meeting discussed a development model based on the Indian perspective, focusing on ensuring that progress is self-reliant, environmentally friendly, and inclusive of all societal segments.
