Lucknow, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : Hundreds of teacher recruitment candidates gathered in Lucknow on Saturday, demanding justice and a meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The protest, involving around 68,500 applicants, took place near the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. The demonstrators called for the implementation of directives from the State Backward Classes Commission, specifically seeking fairness for Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates.
Ajay Kumar, one of the protesters, expressed their frustrations, stating, “We want permission to speak with the Chief Minister and for the orders issued by the State Backward Classes Commission to be enforced. We also demand appointment letters. We have been fighting for eight years for these rights.”
Shivesh Singh, another candidate from Unnao, highlighted the need for equitable treatment in the recruitment process. “The matter involves 68,500 teacher positions. All categories should receive a 5% relaxation. OBC, disabled individuals, ex-servicemen, and freedom fighters have been placed in the unreserved category, which is unjust,” he said. Singh added that the Basic Education Minister assured them that discussions would occur with the Chief Minister, emphasizing the need for their voices to be heard.
Several female candidates echoed similar sentiments, stressing their desire to meet with the Chief Minister to address the promises made to them. They collectively urged for a resolution to their concerns and for their demands to be acknowledged.
