Mumbai, July 20: A sense of shock enveloped Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, on Monday morning when an unidentified, bloodied body was discovered in the premises of the Fisheries Department. The police have taken possession of the body and sent it for autopsy.
Initial investigations revealed signs of injury on the victim’s head and body. However, authorities stated that the actual cause of death will only be determined after the autopsy report is received.
Currently, the identity of the deceased remains unknown. Police are reaching out to nearby police stations for assistance in identification and are also questioning local residents. Additionally, they are reviewing CCTV footage from cameras installed in the vicinity of the crime scene.
Nishant Kerketta, the officer in charge of Lohsinghna police station, reported that CCTV footage shows an individual entering the premises from the back of the Fisheries Department office and attempting to climb onto the building’s roof. This raises the possibility of an accident, but all potential angles, including homicide, are being investigated.
In recent days, there have been several incidents of unidentified bodies being found in Hazaribagh district. Previously, bodies were discovered near the Town Station, Hirabag, and Churchu police station areas. The recurrence of such incidents has heightened concerns among local residents.
The police have urged the public to come forward if any family member or acquaintance has been missing in recent days, to assist in identifying the body. Officials have assured that every aspect of the case is under thorough investigation.
