Major Bus Accident on National Highway-52 in Madhya Pradesh Leaves Over 29 Injured

Shajapur, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : A serious bus accident occurred late at night on September 6 in Shajapur district, Madhya Pradesh, resulting in injuries to more than 29 passengers, including women and children. Reports indicate that two individuals are in critical condition. All injured parties were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The incident took place near Thukrana junction on National Highway-52, where a passenger bus traveling from Sironj to Indore collided with a divider. Witnesses suggest that the driver lost control, causing the bus to veer onto the divider. The impact was severe, leading to extensive damage to the front of the bus and panic among the passengers.

Initial reports indicate that the bus was carrying over 50 people at the time of the accident. Authorities suspect that the driver may have dozed off, contributing to the crash.

Upon receiving news of the accident, Shajapur police station chief Santosh Kumar Waghela arrived at the scene with a team. They quickly called for emergency services, ensuring that all injured passengers were rushed to Shajapur District Hospital. Thanks to timely medical intervention, a potentially larger tragedy was averted.

Waghela informed the media, “The bus from Patidar Travels was on its way from Sironj to Indore when the accident occurred on the highway near the Shajapur bypass. Many people have been injured, and they have all been brought to the district hospital.”

The arrival of so many injured individuals created chaos at the hospital, prompting the medical team to be mobilized swiftly for treatment. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Manisha Vaskale and Tehsildar Gaurav Porwal also visited the hospital to check on the victims and instructed doctors to provide the best possible care.

Currently, treatment for all injured passengers is ongoing at the district hospital. Two of the injured have been referred to Indore for further medical care due to their serious conditions. Civil Surgeon Dr. Maina reported, “A total of 29 patients have been admitted here. The driver and his assistant are in critical condition, while others sustained minor injuries and have been treated and moved to wards.”
