
Greater Noida, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : Authorities in Greater Noida are currently engaged in a rescue operation after two young men drowned in the Hindon River on Saturday. The incident occurred near the village of Haibatpur in the Bisrakh police jurisdiction. According to reports, the victims, identified as Shiv and Saurabh, aged 19 and 20, respectively, were attempting to tie a rope to a boat when they lost their balance and fell into the river.
Witnesses described a chaotic scene as the swift current quickly swept the young men away. Local residents immediately alerted the police, who arrived on the scene to initiate rescue efforts. Teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and the fire service have been deployed to assist in the search.
The incident took place in the Yusufpur Chak area, where the river’s current is particularly strong at this time. Rescue teams are facing challenges due to the depth of the water and the speed of the flow. They are conducting searches in various sections of the river, exercising extreme caution as they work to locate the missing individuals.
Senior police officials are on-site, overseeing the operation and coordinating with rescue teams equipped with modern tools and resources. The search is also extending downstream in case the young men were carried further away by the current.
A large crowd of locals has gathered near the riverbank, prompting police to cordon off the area to ensure that the rescue efforts are not hindered. As of now, both young men remain unaccounted for, and the search operation will continue diligently.
