Washington, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced an attack on an Iranian oil tanker identified as MT Kilo. According to CENTCOM, the vessel sank to the seafloor in the Gulf of Oman following the incident.
In a post on the social media platform X, CENTCOM stated that the precise actions and professional skills of American forces led to the sinking of MT Kilo, which subsequently joined the Iranian navy at the bottom of the sea.
Tensions between the U.S. and Iran have persisted, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz, where intermittent attacks continue to escalate hostilities.
Former U.S. President Donald Trump characterized the ongoing conflict with Iran as a “military struggle,” rather than a full-scale war. He asserted that Washington maintains control over the Strait of Hormuz and has successfully prevented Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
Trump made these comments in response to questions about why Vice President J.D. Vance refrained from labeling the renewed attacks on Iran as “war.” He explained, “Look, I tell you, many people don’t call it war. I call it military conflict because for us, it’s not a big deal. It’s not a very significant event.”
Just last Tuesday night, a major assault on Iran resulted in the deaths of 18 individuals. Following this event, Trump declared that U.S. forces are prepared to launch further strikes against Iran at any time. He claimed that American troops have destroyed all new equipment recently deployed or reactivated by Iran around the Strait of Hormuz.
