Ara, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : A significant train derailment was narrowly avoided on Sunday morning near the Ara railway station in Bihar. The incident occurred on the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay-Danapur rail line, approximately 200 meters from platform number two.
The Delhi-bound Mahananda Express (15483) derailed, causing the engine, SLR, and H-1 coaches to come off the tracks. Following the incident, railway officials and staff rushed to the scene to initiate rescue and repair operations.
Reports indicate that the Mahananda Express arrived at Ara station around 4:12 AM, preparing to depart for Delhi. During its operation, a technical issue reportedly caused the signal to divert towards the Sasaram line. Consequently, the train proceeded and derailed shortly after leaving the station.
Railway personnel quickly responded, working to lift the derailed coaches back onto the tracks. The incident has disrupted train operations, prompting a technical team to investigate the track and signaling systems. Officials are currently examining why the signal shifted towards the Sasaram line, leading the train in the wrong direction.
Fortunately, no injuries to passengers have been reported. However, the morning incident created panic among travelers. The railway department is working diligently to restore normal operations. Authorities have stated that a thorough investigation will clarify the causes of the incident and determine accountability.
