Shah Nawaz Hussain Condemns Opposition’s Politics Over Ajit Pawar’s Death

New Delhi: BJP leader Shah Nawaz Hussain has criticised the opposition for indulging in “cheap politics” following the death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash.

Speaking in New Delhi, Hussain expressed regret that opposition leaders, including Mamata Banerjee, Mallikarjun Kharge, and others, are politicising a sensitive issue. “What exactly are they questioning? It was an accident, an investigation will be conducted, and proper procedures will be followed,” he said. He called the conspiracy theories deeply unfortunate and said such low-level politics by the opposition had never been witnessed before.

Addressing former Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari’s statement referring to Mahmud Ghazni and Bahlul Lodi as “Indian looters”, Hussain condemned the language used by Ansari, especially given his former high office. “Mahmud Ghazni, who had looted the Somnath temple, is being called an Indian looter. This distorts history and is unacceptable. He should apologise for such remarks. His statements are facing widespread opposition across India,” Hussain said.

Referring to Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, Hussain noted that while Tharoor is performing his constitutional duties and party responsibilities, the Congress lacks trust in its own leaders and workers. He quoted former Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed, saying, “Rahul Gandhi fears talented leaders.”

On the issue of border security, Hussain accused the West Bengal government of deliberately not allotting land to the Border Security Force (BSF) to build fencing, thereby aiding infiltrators. “It is unfortunate that a state government in our own country is refusing to provide land to BSF for border fencing. This is a serious matter,” he stated.
