Balochistan: BLA Claims 23 Attacks in 10 Days, 16 Pakistani Security Personnel Killed

Quetta, July 2: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for targeting Pakistani security forces in 23 separate operations across various regions of Balochistan over the past ten days. According to the group, these attacks resulted in the deaths of 16 security personnel, with several others injured.

In a statement released to the media, BLA spokesperson Jiand Baloch stated that these operations, conducted between June 21 and June 30, specifically targeted security forces, infrastructure, and vehicles associated with what they termed “oppressive projects.” The organization also claimed to have implemented a strategy of “economic blockade” by obstructing certain routes and targeting commercial vehicles.

The statement detailed that on June 23, BLA fighters maintained control in the Sarawan, Nauroze Kalat, and Jarozai areas of Kharan district for two days. During this period, they claimed to have destroyed two bridges, with seven Pakistani security personnel reportedly killed in various attacks and sniper fire.

The group further asserted that they attacked security forces near Besima and destroyed surveillance equipment at a military post in the Khairabad area of Turbat.

On June 25, BLA reported blocking roads in Mastung and Nushki, seizing seven cargo vehicles, and setting ten others ablaze. The group claimed these vehicles were linked to opposing projects.

The following day, a fierce encounter occurred in the Balbal area of Jehri, resulting in the deaths of six Pakistani security personnel and injuries to several others, while two members of the BLA were also reported killed.

BLA stated that an attack was carried out on an Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF) vehicle in the Karkh area of Khuzdar, along with separate actions in Kharan and Besima.

On June 27, a police vehicle in the Mian Ghundi area of Quetta was targeted with a remote-controlled explosive device (IED), injuring four police officers. The group also claimed to have neutralized three cargo trailers in Dalbandin.

According to BLA, an encounter on June 28 in the Kambela area of Mastung resulted in the deaths of two Pakistani security personnel and two fighters from the group. Additionally, an IED attack was carried out on a military patrol in Kech, and machinery and vehicles were destroyed at a construction camp near Kharan.

On June 30, BLA claimed to have set five vehicles on fire in Mastung and Nushki and seized a vehicle transporting supplies linked to the Zargoon gas field near Quetta.

In its statement, BLA reiterated its commitment to opposing state-sponsored development and resource extraction projects in Balochistan, vowing to continue armed actions until “the freedom of Balochistan” is achieved.
