Sanjay Nirupam Praises Modi Governments 12-Year Achievements

Mumbai, May 26: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s accomplishments during his tenure in a conversation on Tuesday. He emphasized that the public has full confidence in PM Modi.

Nirupam began by congratulating Modi on completing 12 years in office. He noted that winning three consecutive elections since 2014 indicates strong acceptance and trust among the people. According to him, the repeated mandates reflect the public’s faith in the government’s performance.

He mentioned that several issues had lingered since independence, causing public concern. However, significant progress has been made in addressing these issues over the past 12 years. He highlighted the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir as a crucial step to strengthen the concept of “one nation, one constitution, one flag.”

Regarding Naxalism, he stated that the problem was severe in about 120 districts, hindering development. He claimed that substantial control has been achieved over this issue, leading to accelerated development in many areas.

Nirupam also commended the country’s infrastructure development, noting that approximately 55,000 kilometers of national highways have been constructed, connecting nearly 99,000 villages with rural roads. He referred to the expansion of expressways and Vande Bharat trains as symbols of national progress.

He remarked on improvements in law and order, stating that significant control has been achieved over terrorism. He also mentioned the triple talaq law, which he believes has provided security and rights to Muslim women, marking a significant social reform.

Discussing Digital India, he described it as a highly successful initiative, with many people in India now engaging in digital transactions through UPI. On the economic front, he stated that the country’s economy has strengthened, making India the fourth-largest economy globally. He expressed confidence that India will soon become the third-largest economy. However, he acknowledged ongoing challenges such as unemployment and inflation, noting that economic growth has led to increased incomes over time.

Nirupam addressed the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), stating it has been a topic of discussion for a long time. He mentioned that while it was debated during the Constitution’s formation, it was not implemented at that time. He argued that there should be uniform laws across the country regarding marriage, divorce, adoption, and inheritance.

He pointed out that steps have been taken in states like Uttarakhand and Goa, and gradually other states may adopt similar measures. He also noted that the government has indicated that some tribal traditions may be exempt from this code.

Following this, he discussed Maharashtra’s politics and the Marathi language issue. He asserted that everyone working in Maharashtra should have a basic understanding of Marathi to facilitate communication. He mentioned that the government is promoting Marathi language training for auto and taxi drivers, which he views as a positive initiative.

Regarding the political situation in Maharashtra, he stated that the strategy for upcoming local body and legislative council elections will be crucial. He indicated that various parties will collaborate to formulate electoral strategies and select candidates after seat distribution. He advised against commenting on any candidates based on media reports at this time.
