Sanjay Nirupam Praises Modi Governments 12-Year Achievements

Mumbai, May 26: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s accomplishments during his tenure while speaking to the media on Tuesday. He emphasized that the public has complete faith in PM Modi.

Firstly, he congratulated PM Modi on completing 12 years in office. Nirupam noted that winning three consecutive elections since Modi took office in 2014 indicates strong acceptance and trust among the people. According to him, the repeated mandates reflect the public’s confidence in the government’s performance.

He stated that several issues had lingered since independence, causing public concern. However, significant progress has been made in addressing these issues over the past 12 years. He highlighted the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir as a necessary step to strengthen the spirit of “One Nation, One Constitution, One Flag.”

On the topic of Naxalism, he mentioned that approximately 120 districts faced severe Naxal issues that hindered development. He claimed that substantial control has been achieved over this problem, allowing development projects to advance rapidly in many areas.

Nirupam also praised the country’s infrastructure development, noting that nearly 55,000 kilometers of national highways have been constructed, connecting around 99,000 villages with rural roads. He cited the expansion of expressways and Vande Bharat trains as symbols of the nation’s progress.

He remarked that law and order, as well as security, have improved in the country, with significant control over terrorism. He also referenced the Triple Talaq law, stating that it has provided security and rights to Muslim women, marking a significant social reform.

Discussing Digital India, he called it a highly successful initiative. Today, many people in India engage in digital transactions through UPI. Regarding the economy, he noted that India’s economy has strengthened, making it the fourth-largest in the world, with expectations of becoming the third-largest in the future. However, he acknowledged ongoing challenges such as unemployment and inflation, while also noting that economic growth has increased people’s incomes over time.

Nirupam addressed the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), stating it has been a topic of discussion for a long time. He mentioned that there was debate about it during the constitution’s formation, but it was not implemented at that time. He believes there should be uniform laws for marriage, divorce, adoption, and inheritance across the country.

He added that steps have been taken in states like Uttarakhand and Goa, with other states likely to follow suit. He noted that the government has mentioned keeping some tribal traditions separate from the UCC.

Following this, he discussed Maharashtra’s politics and the Marathi language issue. He asserted that everyone working in Maharashtra should have a basic understanding of Marathi for effective communication. He mentioned that the government is initiating programs to teach Marathi to auto and taxi drivers, which he views as a positive step.

Regarding Maharashtra’s political landscape, he stated that the strategy for upcoming local body and legislative council elections will be crucial. He hinted that various parties would collaborate on electoral strategies and candidate selection after seat distribution. He also advised against commenting on any candidates based on media reports at this time.
