New Delhi, July 1: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is set to conduct its three-day provincial meeting in Belagavi, Karnataka, from July 10 to 12. This information comes amidst ongoing demands from Karnataka’s Home Minister Priyank Kharge for the organization to provide its registration documents.
This annual organizational meeting will see top RSS leaders and senior officials from across the country in attendance. Key figures include RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, all provincial propagators, and organizational secretaries from various allied organizations.
Sources indicate that the meeting will review the organizational activities of the RSS from the previous year and finalize plans for upcoming events and expansions in the coming months.
Discussions are expected to focus on strengthening organizational coordination, reviewing the implementation of ongoing activities, expanding outreach programs, and setting priorities for the RSS and its affiliated organizations.
Senior officials from different states will present reports on organizational development in their respective areas and discuss strategies to strengthen the RSS’s grassroots network.
The provincial propagator meeting is considered one of the crucial internal organizational gatherings for the RSS. It serves as a platform for senior officials to assess progress, share feedback from across the nation, and develop a roadmap for the organization’s nationwide activities.
The meeting will conclude on July 12 after three days of discussions.
In June, Home Minister Priyank Kharge wrote to RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, requesting the organization to formally register itself and publicly disclose information regarding its legal status, funding, finances, officials, properties, and tax compliance. Kharge argued that a large and influential organization like the RSS should operate with greater transparency and accountability under the law.
Kharge stated that the Home Department provides security for the RSS’s events and its leaders, which grants the government the right to request information about the organization. He emphasized the need to know whom he is providing security to.
He dismissed allegations from the BJP that he was attempting to impose a ban on the RSS.
Mohan Bhagwat responded by stating that there is nothing to hide and labeled the demand as politically motivated.
