Ajmer, 27 August (Kiran News). The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has made medical verification mandatory after taking serious note of cases involving suspect disability certificates during the interview phase of the RAS Recruitment Exam 2023. This strict step by the commission has caused concern among candidates whose certificate authenticity is under question. Several candidates have even avoided appearing before the medical board.

Surprisingly, some candidates have requested the commission to change their category from ‘disabled’ to ‘general’ or another category. The investigation has revealed that many of these candidates are already employed as teachers, patwaris, or in other government positions under disability reservation. Taking these matters seriously, the commission has instructed the concerned departments through official letters to re-verify the disability status of such employees.
“This initiative by the commission is significant for ensuring a fair recruitment process. It will curb the use of fake certificates and protect the rights of genuinely disabled candidates.”
— Utkal Ranjan Sahu, Chairman, RPSC
The commission secretary stated that the use of fake certificates infringes upon the rights of genuine disabled candidates. Now, instead of superficial document checks, there will be thorough verification. Candidates absent from the mandatory medical examination may not only have their RAS Recruitment 2023 candidature cancelled but could also be barred from future recruitments.
