New Delhi, July 29: RJD MP Sudhakar Singh has expressed strong objections to BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s comments regarding Jawaharlal Nehru. Singh accused Dubey of solely aiming to weaken Indian democracy. He further alleged that Dubey is deeply entrenched in corruption and has connections with criminals.
Speaking to a news agency, Sudhakar Singh stated, “He is not Nishikant Dubey, but ‘Nechakant’ Dubey. His only job is to undermine Indian democracy. He does not address any serious issues in Parliament. Instead, he insults and tarnishes the image of great leaders who fought for India’s freedom.”
Singh claimed that Dubey is a person steeped in corruption, with numerous pieces of evidence against him. “He is associated with criminals. In the coming days, you will see us present many facts and evidence against him,” he added.
Regarding the paper leak scandal, Singh remarked, “The BJP is in a dire situation. The government’s image has suffered greatly due to student protests and police firing in Bihar, as well as the encounter of Bharat Tiwari. You will see that the BJP will lag behind in the Bankipur elections. The RJD has always been the strongest opposition party, and our support base has grown. Rekha Gupta will win there.”
On the anti-paper leak bill, Singh noted, “There was already a law against paper leaks. Who demanded amendments? Did the students ask for changes in the law?”
He accused the government of not wanting to take real action. “The government is wasting time in Parliament to protect fraudsters and those involved in paper leaks. They do not want to establish accountability in the law. The CBI has not punished a single individual in 17-18 paper leak cases. The government is running the country in collusion with all the fraudsters. Therefore, the new law will make no difference.”
He further questioned, “What difference will it make to change the fine from 50 lakhs to 5 crores and increase the punishment from 4 years to 8 years? Who has the government punished with the four-year sentence?”
