Relieve Knee Pain with AYUSH Ministrys Simple Knee Movement Technique

New Delhi, July 21: If you experience knee pain while climbing stairs, struggle to get up after sitting for long periods, or feel stiffness in your knees, there’s no need to worry. The AYUSH Ministry has introduced a simple ‘Knee Movement’ that can help improve knee health when practiced regularly.

The AYUSH Ministry shared this technique on the social media platform X, highlighting that the ‘Knee Movement’ is an excellent way to alleviate knee-related issues. It is important to perform this movement with proper breathing and body alignment. This practice strengthens the lower body, making daily activities like walking, sitting, and standing easier.

To perform this exercise, start by standing straight with your body in a neutral position. Take a deep breath and raise both arms to shoulder height, keeping your palms facing down. Slowly exhale as you bend your knees, lowering your body into a semi-squat position, resembling a half-chair. Ensure that your thighs and arms are parallel to the ground in this final position. Hold this position for a few moments, then inhale as you gradually return to a standing position. This counts as one round. Complete a total of three rounds. After finishing, stand in a neutral position for a moment to relax your body.

According to the AYUSH Ministry, regular practice of this yoga exercise enhances knee joint mobility. It strengthens the muscles around the knees, reducing pressure on the joints. Additionally, it improves body balance, increases flexibility, and builds strength in the legs. This exercise can also benefit those who sit for long periods and experience stiffness or weakness in their legs.

While practicing yoga, do not rush. Bend your knees according to your ability and focus on your breathing. If you experience sharp pain in your knees, have recently suffered an injury, undergone surgery, or have severe arthritis, consult a doctor or a trained yoga expert before starting this practice.
