Beijing, July 20: The Chinese State Council held a news briefing on July 20. During this event, officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology provided insights into the development of industrial and information technology in China during the first half of this year.
The officials stated that in the era of the digital economy, computing capacity is a crucial foundational resource. Throughout the first half of this year, China’s computing capacity has seen continuous advancements. By the end of June, the country’s intelligent computing capacity reached an impressive 2185 EFLOPS. The distribution of this capacity across various regions showed that the eastern, central, western, and northeastern areas accounted for 55.9%, 10.6%, 32.6%, and 0.9% of the national total, respectively.
Looking ahead, officials emphasized that China will continue to improve its computing infrastructure and enhance the efficiency of resource utilization. Additionally, efforts will be made to facilitate the use of computing capacity services to support the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises.
