According to the latest forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rain, thunderstorms, and winds gusting at 40 to 50 kilometers per hour are expected on July 21 and 22. A yellow alert has been issued for these two days.
On July 21, the maximum temperature is predicted to reach 32 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 25 degrees Celsius. The sky will generally remain overcast throughout the day, with a high likelihood of heavy rain. Forecasts indicate moderate to heavy rainfall during the morning, noon, and afternoon, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong gusts. In the evening, light to moderate rain is expected, with winds blowing at 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
The weather on July 22 is expected to be similar, with maximum temperatures around 32 degrees and a minimum of 23 degrees Celsius. The day will see overcast skies, moderate to heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and winds at 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for this day.
However, some relief is anticipated starting July 23, when the maximum temperature is expected to be 33 degrees and the minimum 22 degrees Celsius. The skies will generally be cloudy, with moderate rain possible, but no warnings will be in effect.
On July 24, the maximum temperature is forecasted to be 33 degrees and the minimum 23 degrees, with humidity levels between 80 and 65 percent. Only cloudy conditions are expected, with no weather warnings. Similarly, on July 25, temperatures will remain around 33 degrees maximum and 23 degrees minimum, with humidity between 80 and 60 percent. The weather will generally be cloudy.
On July 26, the maximum temperature is expected to be 33 degrees and the minimum 24 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels between 75 and 55 percent. The sky will continue to be overcast.
Meteorologists warn that the heavy rain over the next two days could lead to waterlogging, traffic jams, and fallen branches in areas including Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad. Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel during inclement weather, refrain from standing in open areas during thunderstorms, and follow the IMD’s advisories.
