RCB Enters WPL Final with 8-Wicket Win over UP Warriors

Vadodara: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) secured their place in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 final by defeating UP Warriors by 8 wickets in the 18th match held at BCA Stadium on Thursday. This marked RCB’s sixth win of the season. The final will be played on the same ground on February 5.

RCB has lost only 2 of their 8 matches this season, while UP Warriors have won just 2 out of 7 games and remain at the bottom of the points table.

After losing the toss, UP Warriors batted first and scored 143 runs for 8 wickets. Captain Meg Lanning and Deepti Sharma provided a strong start with an opening partnership of 74 runs in 8.1 overs. Lanning scored 41 runs off 30 balls, including 1 six and 6 fours, before getting out.

Deepti Sharma then took charge, contributing significantly with small partnerships to take the team to a challenging total. She scored 55 runs off 43 balls with 1 six and 6 fours. Harleen Deol added 14 runs, while Simran Shaikh contributed 10 runs.

From the bowling side, Nadine de Klerk took 4 wickets for 22 runs, Grace Harris claimed 2 wickets, and Lauren Bell and Shreyanka Patil took one wicket each.

Chasing the target, RCB reached the score in 13.1 overs. The opening pair of Grace Harris and captain Smriti Mandhana set a strong foundation with a 108-run partnership in 9.1 overs. Harris scored 75 runs off 37 balls, including 2 sixes and 13 fours.

Mandhana then joined Georgia Voll, who scored 16 runs, adding 35 runs for the second wicket to guide the team to victory. Mandhana remained unbeaten on 54 runs off 27 balls, hitting 2 sixes and 8 fours. For UP Warriors, Shikha Pandey and Asha Joy took one wicket each.
