Guwahati, April 8: Rajasthan Royals (RR) secured a 27-run victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 13th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which was affected by rain. This win marks RR’s third consecutive victory this season, propelling them to the top of the points table. Meanwhile, MI, currently in seventh place, faced their second defeat in this tournament.
Due to rain, the first ball was bowled at 10:10 PM, with both teams playing reduced overs of 9 each. Batting first after losing the toss, Rajasthan Royals scored 150 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their allotted 11 overs. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal partnered with Vaibhav Suryaanshi to accumulate 80 runs in just 5 overs.
Vaibhav scored 39 runs off 14 balls, hitting 5 sixes and 1 four before being dismissed. Dhruv Jurel, who came in at number three, managed only 2 runs. RR lost 2 wickets for 84 runs, but Jaiswal then formed a crucial partnership of 37 runs with captain Riyan Parag in just 19 balls. Riyan scored 20 runs off 10 balls, including 3 boundaries. Jaiswal then added 29 runs with Shimron Hetmyer for the fourth wicket, leading the team to a total of 150/3.
