
Guwahati, April 8: Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryaanshi delivered a stunning performance, propelling Rajasthan Royals (RR) to set a target of 151 runs for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 13th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The match took place at Barsapara Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Due to rain, the toss was held at 9:55 AM, leading to a reduction of 9 overs per side. Mumbai Indians’ captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to field first, inviting Rajasthan Royals to bat. Jaiswal opened the innings alongside Suryaanshi.
Jaiswal provided a fantastic start for RR, smashing 4 fours and 1 six (totaling 22 runs) against Deepak Chahar in the very first over. He formed a formidable partnership of 80 runs with Suryaanshi in just 5 overs. Suryaanshi scored 39 runs off 14 balls, hitting 5 sixes and 1 four before departing.
Dhruv Jurel, who came in at number three, struggled to contribute, managing only 4 runs alongside Jaiswal for the second wicket. Jurel was dismissed for 2 runs off 3 balls. Jaiswal then teamed up with captain Riyan Parag to add 37 runs for the third wicket in 19 balls.
Parag scored 20 runs off 10 balls. Jaiswal continued his assault, partnering with Shimron Hetmyer to add an unbeaten 29 runs in just 13 balls, bringing the team’s score to 150/3 at the end of 11 overs. Jaiswal remained not out at 77 runs from 32 balls, including 4 sixes and 10 fours, while Hetmyer contributed 6 runs not out. From the opposition, Gajanan took 2 wickets for 21 runs, and Shardul Thakur claimed 1 wicket.
Under Hardik Pandya’s captaincy, Mumbai Indians featured Rohit Sharma, Ryan Rickelton (wicketkeeper), Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, Naman Dhir, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, AM Gajanan, Trent Boult, and Jasprit Bumrah.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals fielded a team comprising Riyan Parag (captain), Vaibhav Suryaanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel (wicketkeeper), Shimron Hetmyer, Donovan Ferreira, Ravindra Jadeja, Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, Tushar Deshpande, and Sandeep Sharma.
