Jaipur, August 10: A significant gathering took place in Nangal Pyarivas, Dausa district, during the second day of the ‘World Tribal Day’ celebrations. Rajasthan’s Cabinet Minister, Kirori Lal Meena, made important remarks regarding the relationship between the Meena and Gurjar communities.
Addressing thousands, Meena described the two communities as complementary, rooted in agriculture and sharing similar socio-economic concerns. He urged for brotherhood and advised against conflicts that could harm broader social interests.
The event was held under a massive dome covering approximately 125 bighas, but inadequate arrangements forced many attendees to sit outside in the open.
In his speech, Meena referenced former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot and his late father, former Union Minister Rajesh Pilot. He recalled Dausa’s political history and emphasized the Meena community’s role in its progress.
He told the Gurjar community that if they wish to see one of their leaders become Chief Minister, they must also remember the significance of ‘Ram.’ He stated that becoming a Chief Minister or Prime Minister ultimately depends on fate and public blessings. He appealed that social harmony should not be sacrificed for political ambitions. Drawing from Hindu mythology, he likened the relationship between the two communities to that of Lord Ram and Lakshman, stressing that conflicts would be detrimental to both.
Meena reaffirmed his political commitment to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He recounted an incident where some supporters told him, “The party is wrong, and you are right.” He responded by asserting that the party is correct, emphasizing that the BJP has provided him with his political identity and ideology.
The minister announced that the formal installation of the main deity and other idols at the Panch-Athai complex will take place on August 9, 2027, coinciding with World Tribal Day.
The assembly was also addressed by convenor Lal Meena, local MLA Ramvilas Meena, Rajendra Meena, Mahenderpal, and Mangilal, among other social and political figures.
