Rajasthan BJP Criticizes Ashok Gehlot Over Panchna Dam Issue

Jaipur, June 23: The Rajasthan BJP President, Madan Rathore, sharply criticized former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s comments regarding the Panchna Dam controversy on Monday. He stated that those questioning the current government should first clarify what concrete steps they took to resolve this long-standing issue during their tenure.

Rathore pointed out that the Panchna Dam dispute remained unresolved during the previous Congress government, causing prolonged distress for the affected communities. He accused Gehlot’s administration of failing to take effective measures despite having ample opportunities to address the matter.

He questioned why Gehlot did not resolve the issue during his time as Chief Minister if he was genuinely concerned about it. Rathore remarked that after failing to act, Gehlot is now attempting to mislead the public through political accusations.

The BJP leader emphasized that the government led by Bhajanlal Sharma is taking the matter seriously and is actively working towards a resolution. He mentioned that the state government is engaged in regular discussions with all stakeholders and is committed to finding a sustainable, balanced, and acceptable solution through consensus and administrative coordination.

Rathore stressed that issues directly affecting the public should be addressed through constructive and solution-oriented efforts rather than political rhetoric. He affirmed that the BJP government is continuously striving to ensure a permanent resolution to the Panchna Dam dispute while safeguarding the interests of residents.

He further stated that it is inappropriate to raise questions about an issue that saw no action during the previous government’s term. “The public has the right to know what steps the Congress government took to resolve this significant matter during their many years in power,” Rathore added.

Reiterating the state government’s commitment, he stated that the current administration is working to resolve the dispute while upholding the principles of accountability, transparency, and public interest.
