New Delhi, August 13: Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad addressed a press conference at the party headquarters, sharply criticizing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Prasad stated, “The Monsoon Session has fallen victim to a leader’s arrogance, indiscipline, and obstinacy. Rahul Gandhi sat at the gate of the Prime Minister’s residence without permission. When the government called for a discussion, he demanded a resignation instead. The government has enacted stringent laws regarding NEET and established fast-track courts. Following the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, further demands were made by him.”
The BJP MP emphasized that Rahul Gandhi repeatedly insisted that the Home Minister should respond to police actions. “Yesterday, the Home Minister stated that he was ready to listen to the entire debate for 24 hours and respond to all arguments. I will address each point regarding the incident. Kiren Rijiju also raised this matter in the House. When the Speaker called for a debate, Rahul Gandhi made foolish comments,” Prasad added.
He questioned, “Does Rahul Gandhi not have a basic understanding of governance? Does the police shoot on the Home Minister’s orders? Amit Shah is ready to sit for 24 hours. Yet, Rahul Gandhi still demands his resignation. When the Home Minister is willing to debate, why does he dismiss it?”
Prasad asserted that the country’s politics cannot be run by Rahul Gandhi’s obstinacy, which is why his party is in its current state. He noted that in the House, Rahul Gandhi began raising issues related to the Ram Temple alongside socialists. “He does not allow the House to function, then claims that his voice is unheard. The country must understand that Rahul Gandhi is irresponsible, immature, undisciplined, and arrogant. There is no place for political decorum within him,” Prasad remarked.
He reiterated, “We have previously stated, and the government has confirmed, that no shots were fired. It would have been better if he had listened to Amit Shah. He did not allow the House to function, which is quite unfortunate. We condemn this.”
