New Delhi, September 8 (Daily Kiran) : Former ambassador Mahesh Sachdeva has described the upcoming 18th BRICS Summit, set to take place in India, as a crucial opportunity to strengthen a multipolar global order for emerging economies. He noted that the world is currently facing numerous challenges, including the Ukraine-Russia war, the U.S.-Iran conflict, trade sanctions, and disruptions in supply chains. In this context, the gathering of BRICS nations could play a significant role in addressing global issues.
Sachdeva pointed out that this is the fourth time India is hosting the BRICS Summit, and the current international climate has heightened its importance. He highlighted that the impacts of the Ukraine-Russia conflict and the U.S.-Iran tensions extend beyond the involved countries, affecting the global economy and strategy. These conflicts have led to increased pressure on the prices of food, oil, gas, and fertilizers, disrupting global supply chains.
Despite efforts to resolve these wars, Sachdeva stated that success has been elusive, as involved parties have failed to agree on a universally acceptable solution.
