Guiyang, June 20: In an impressive display, Indian boxer Prachi has propelled the nation to secure six medals at the World Boxing Cup 2026 (Stage 2). Following a stellar performance in the quarter-finals, Indian boxers have showcased their talent on the international stage.

Prachi (57 kg) triumphed over Shih Yi Wu of Chinese Taipei, an Olympic bronze medalist, with a decisive 4-1 victory, earning her a spot in the semi-finals.

In the women’s category, world number one boxer Meenakshi is competing in the 51 kg division. She achieved a remarkable 5-0 win against Kazakhstan’s Alua Balkibekova, marking one of the day’s standout victories.

In the men’s category, Deepak (70 kg) delivered a calm performance, defeating Azerbaijan’s Nabi Isgandarov 5-0. Meanwhile, Nikhil (55 kg) also secured his semi-final berth by overcoming Azerbaijan’s Amin Mammadzada with a similar score of 5-0.

With these results, India has already clinched six medals, highlighting the dominance of Indian boxers on the global stage.

Earlier, Saneh (65 kg) performed well but was eliminated after losing 0-5 to Poland’s Kinga Krowka.

India’s consistent success at the World Boxing Cup once again demonstrates the depth across all weight categories, as the team eyes multiple finalists and potential gold medals in upcoming matches.

On Thursday, Meenakshi advanced to the quarter-finals in her weight class after defeating Poland’s Natalia Kuczewska 5-0. In another match on the fourth day, Abhinash Jamwal (65 kg) was eliminated after losing 0-5 to Kyrgyzstan’s Mirzokhid Imamanzarov.
