Ayodhya, June 8: The political landscape has been shaken following allegations by Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav regarding missing funds from the donation corpus of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. This accusation has prompted significant activity within political and administrative circles. The police have reached out to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust regarding the matter. However, no official complaint has been filed by the Trust as of now.
In response to the allegations, Trust General Secretary Champat Rai has dismissed the claims, stating that a regular internal audit is currently underway and no irregularities have been found thus far.
Sources indicate that police officials are closely monitoring the situation and maintaining constant communication with the Trust. They have requested the Trust to clarify the actual status of the funds. However, the Trust has yet to report any complaints or irregularities to the police, leading law enforcement to keep a watchful eye on the developments.
Amid the escalating controversy, Champat Rai reiterated that the Trust’s financial management is entirely transparent and is subject to regular internal audits.
In a statement, Champat Rai said, “For everyone’s information, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra undergoes internal audits periodically. Representatives from the Trust and the State Bank of India are involved in this process. The audit takes several days, and this procedure is currently ongoing. So far, no significant issues have emerged.”
Notably, Akhilesh Yadav took to the social media platform X to make a serious allegation, stating that it is deeply concerning for devotees of Lord Ram worldwide that a substantial amount of money donated to the ‘Ram Temple’ has reportedly gone missing. He described the situation as extremely embarrassing for the Trust and criticized the lack of accountability, calling for the court to take suo motu cognizance as it directly affects the faith of the global Sanatani community in Lord Ram. He also expressed suspicion over the government’s silence on the matter.
