Patna, July 28: Political tensions have escalated on the final day of campaigning for the Bankipur Assembly by-election in Bihar. Former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is at the center of controversy following the release of a video, which Prashant Kishor, the founder of Jan Suraj and candidate for the by-election, claims was fabricated using artificial intelligence by the NDA. The Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) has dismissed these allegations, labeling them as disrespectful to the former Chief Minister and launching a counterattack against Kishor.
Kishor asserted that the people of Bankipur have already made their decision. He stated that the video released by the NDA is entirely fake and created with AI assistance. Kishor emphasized that Kumar never made the statements depicted in the video, asserting it does not convey his genuine message.
He further criticized the BJP and NDA, claiming they have resorted to using Kumar’s name out of fear of losing, despite previously erasing his images from government and political posters. Kishor urged voters to scrutinize the video closely, highlighting its technological manipulation.
In response to Kishor’s accusations, JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar declared that the Jan Suraj candidate’s bail is likely to be revoked in the by-election, suggesting that Kishor’s baseless claims stem from desperation. He noted that Kishor is attempting to disrespect a leader with whom he has worked closely for many years.
Kumar mentioned that NDA candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha sought blessings from Nitish Kumar, who issued a video message based on his accomplishments. He accused Kishor of undermining not only Kumar but also the sentiments of the Bankipur electorate by calling the video fake.
The JD(U) spokesperson asserted that backward classes, Dalits, minorities, and women voters still trust Nitish Kumar. He predicted that Bankipur voters would support the NDA, and the election results would confirm the public’s faith in Kumar’s leadership.
It is noteworthy that campaigning for the Bankipur Assembly by-election will conclude on the evening of July 30, intensifying the exchange of accusations between the two parties as the voting day approaches.
