
New Delhi, March 22: On the occasion of World Water Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called upon citizens to reaffirm their commitment to water conservation, emphasizing that water is not only the foundation of life but also shapes the future of our planet.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Prime Minister Modi stated, “Water gives us life and shapes the future of our planet. On World Water Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to saving every drop of water and using it responsibly. Today is also a day to appreciate those who adopt sustainable practices, raise awareness, and promote a culture of conservation.”
Central Minister for Jal Shakti, C.R. Patil, echoed this sentiment in a post on ‘X’, noting, “Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has witnessed significant changes in water management, conservation, and enhancement. Today, water conservation has become a powerful national campaign driven by public participation, where active community involvement is providing new energy alongside policies.”
He further stated, “Improved access to clean drinking water has reduced the labor of women in many areas, enhancing their dignity and convenience. Additionally, there are positive improvements in children’s health and sanitation, which are crucial indicators of a healthy society. The country is continuously advancing in the direction of conserving water sources, rainwater harvesting, and sustainable use, laying the foundation for water security for future generations.”
Patil urged citizens to recognize the importance of water and make its conservation a natural part of their behavior and lifestyle.
On World Water Day, Nitin Naveen, the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), posted, “Let us reaffirm our commitment to promoting water conservation and sustainable development, protecting this lifeline of civilization to ensure a safe and prosperous future for generations to come.”
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extended greetings to the people of the state on World Water Day, stating in a post on ‘X’, “In Uttarakhand, water is not just a resource; it is the foundation of our culture, faith, and existence. Our rivers, springs, and natural water sources are an integral part of our rich traditions and lifestyle.”
He added, “The state government is conducting a comprehensive campaign through the Spring and River Rejuvenation Authority to revive drying water sources and rivers, ensuring water security for future generations and revitalizing our traditional water sources. Let us all commit to water conservation and secure our future by saving water.”
