New Delhi, June 21: U.S. Vice President JD Vance stated in Switzerland that the Trump administration is actively working to halt conflicts in Lebanon and promote lasting peace in the region.
According to the official U.S. government digital media account ‘Rapid Response’, Vice President Vance addressed the public before meeting with Middle Eastern leaders to discuss the Iran deal.
Vance emphasized, “I believe that in recent months, President Donald Trump and the United States have made more efforts than any other government in the world to stop the conflict in Lebanon. We will continue to work in this direction.”
He noted that today symbolizes the beginning of a technical dialogue, allowing both sides to sit together for the first time to understand their most critical issues. Following this, they can find solutions and move towards a better future.
The Vice President credited President Trump for bringing them to this point, expressing his desire for the Middle East to be significantly different and improved ten years from now.
Vance mentioned that significant progress has been made in recent days to ensure a ceasefire in Lebanon. Trump has committed to working towards a complete ceasefire across the region.
During this event, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also addressed the audience. He expressed his sincere gratitude to President Trump for his visionary and impactful leadership, which made this meeting possible.
Sharif remarked, “I believe the discussions here will be very fruitful, and I hope they yield positive and useful results in the future. I also want to thank the Vice President for his excellent leadership in leading the U.S. team.”
