Bihar MLC Pawan Singh Calls for Fair Investigation into Youths Death in Bhojpur Encounter

Patna, June 21: The Bihar government has decided to conduct a judicial inquiry into the death of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari during a police encounter in Bilauti village, Shahpur police station area. However, the controversy surrounding this alleged encounter continues to escalate.

In the meantime, BJP MLC and Bhojpuri cinema star Pawan Singh has expressed his condolences and called for a fair investigation into the incident. On Sunday, he took to social media to share his thoughts, stating that the late Bharat Bhushan Tiwari merely wanted elected representatives and administrative officials to address public issues and ensure that poor, marginalized, and flood-affected families were not deprived of their rights.

Singh described Tiwari as an aware and sensitive individual who fought for society. He consistently raised his voice for the poor, the helpless, Dalits, and those in need. During the COVID-19 pandemic, floods, and other challenging situations, he went above and beyond to serve the community. Numerous examples exist where he collaborated with administrative officials, police personnel, and community members for the public good.

He remarked, “Today, the incident of his death has shaken the entire community. Many questions are arising regarding this event. If the information and videos circulated through various media are accurate, it is crucial that a fair, transparent, and just investigation is conducted so that the truth can be revealed to the public.”

In his Facebook post, the MLC emphasized that every citizen has the right to seek justice in a democracy. The rule of law is only considered strong when every incident is investigated impartially, and legal action is taken against the guilty, regardless of their identity. Justice should not only be done but should also be seen to be done.

He urged the Bihar government and relevant senior officials to ensure a high-level, fair, and transparent investigation into the entire matter so that the truth can emerge and justice can be guaranteed. Singh added that the social contributions of the late Bharat Bhushan Tiwari will always be remembered. He offered his heartfelt condolences and prayed for the grieving family to find the strength to endure this immense sorrow. He also mentioned that he would soon meet with the affected family to express his sympathies and firmly advocate for a fair investigation.

Bharat Bhushan Tiwari, a mentally distressed youth, died in a police encounter on June 17 in Bilauti village, Shahpur police station area. Following the incident, many questions arose locally, prompting calls for a fair investigation. The government has decided to appoint a retired High Court judge to ensure an independent, impartial, and transparent inquiry into the case.
