
Mumbai, June 21: In a shocking incident in the Chembur area of Mumbai, two men standing on the sidewalk were attacked by a group of assailants, leaving them seriously injured. The police acted swiftly, detaining a total of seven suspects, including a minor.
The attack occurred around 12:15 AM in front of Ambika Hardware in Amar Nagar. The victims, Sachin Khadtare (43) and Firoz alias Raju Khan (54), were suddenly assaulted by several individuals, resulting in severe injuries.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the Govandi police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. They registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 118(1), 109, 189(2), 189(3), 189(4), 190, 191(2), 191(3), and 61(2).
Considering the seriousness of the case, the police formed seven special teams for the investigation. Using technical surveillance, call detail records, and CCTV footage, they identified the suspects.
Following the investigation, six individuals were arrested, while one minor was taken into custody and sent to a juvenile home. Currently, the police are continuing their interrogation of all suspects and are working to uncover the motives behind the attack.
In a separate incident, a severe accident occurred on the Mumbai-Vadodara highway early Sunday morning, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The accident took place in Badlapur when a luxury BMW collided with another vehicle. Preliminary reports suggest that speeding was a factor in the crash.
The deceased have been identified as Yogesh Kishan Negi (24) and Rebecca Babu Jacob (22), while another individual, Angad Gill (26), sustained injuries. Both Yogesh and Angad were residents of Badlapur, while Rebecca was from Bandra. Reports indicate that they were friends celebrating Yogesh’s birthday.
