PM Modi Highlights Bengals Rich Heritage at Barrackpore Rally

Kolkata, April 27: During the Vijay Sankalp Rally in Barrackpore, West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed key issues regarding the state’s politics, development, and upcoming elections. He emphasized his emotional connection with the party workers and the public.

Modi expressed that the enthusiasm and warmth he has received from the people of Bengal have deeply moved him. He mentioned that after the election results on May 4, he would return to Bengal for the BJP’s swearing-in ceremony. He considers the people of Bengal as family, finding solace in their company.

In his speech, Modi referenced the historical significance of Barrackpore, which was a pivotal center during the 1857 freedom struggle. He noted that this land continues to inspire new energy for change. He highlighted that regions like Anga, Banga, and Kalinga were the foundation of India’s strength when it was prosperous, and strengthening these areas is crucial for the country’s development today.

Sharing personal experiences, Modi stated that since entering politics, he has traveled across the nation, fulfilling his responsibilities as a party worker regardless of time or weather, prioritizing public service above all.

He recounted a recent rally where he received unprecedented love and support from the public, which further fueled his enthusiasm. He shared an emotional moment when a female supporter attempted to cross barricades to meet him.

Modi also targeted the opposition party, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), stating that the slogan of “Maa, Mati, Manush” which brought the government to power has been forgotten. He accused the TMC of neglecting women’s safety and farmers’ issues. He asserted that this election will determine not only Bengal’s future but also the development trajectory of Eastern India.

Concluding his address, Modi expressed that serving Bengal and overcoming its challenges is not just his privilege but also his duty, and he will not shy away from this responsibility. He emphasized that it is his obligation to protect Bengal from the challenges it faces. He recalled that this very region provided the political foundation for the Janata Party and elected Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee to Parliament, whose vision has become the BJP’s resolve. By abrogating Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, they fulfilled one of Mukherjee’s commitments.

He stated that this election in West Bengal is pivotal for changing the fate of the entire Eastern region of India. He criticized the TMC for lacking a roadmap for Bengal’s future, accusing them of expanding syndicate factories and creating a “jungle raj.” He called for the defeat of the TMC, promising that the BJP will bring governance by the people.
