
New Delhi, May 1: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Minister Kapil Mishra participated in an event on International Workers’ Day on Friday.
CM Rekha Gupta stated that PM Modi has placed the respect for workers at the core of governance and policy.
In a post on X, she extended International Workers’ Day greetings to all laborers who play an invaluable role in nation-building. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to honor the laborers at the Workers’ Respect Ceremony. During the event, 1,000 construction workers received safety kits, and educational kits were distributed to 100 children from laborer families. Additionally, a large-scale skill development campaign aimed at training 35,000 workers annually was launched.
Referring to PM Modi, the CM mentioned that under his guidance, the vision of a ‘Developed India’ progresses through worker empowerment, ensuring that every worker is safe, respected, and connected to opportunities. In line with this spirit, the government has completely waived registration and renewal fees for registered construction workers.
The CM further noted that the collective marriage scheme will provide dignified support to laborer families. Moreover, modern labor chowks and worker service centers will be established to deliver essential services directly to workers.
Minister Kapil Mishra highlighted that the event was organized to honor the hardworking laborers of the capital. The presence of CM Rekha Gupta added grandeur to the occasion. He acknowledged the struggles, dedication, and hard work of Delhi’s laborers.
He also mentioned that CM Rekha Gupta announced several initiatives focused on the welfare of workers, which the government aims to implement at the grassroots level soon.
