Patna, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : Pappu Yadav, a Member of Parliament from Purnia, has voiced strong criticism regarding the ongoing Bihar MLC elections, particularly pointing out the tensions between the RJD and Congress. He accused the political landscape of being dominated by criminals and mafia figures, claiming that candidates with serious allegations are being given tickets.
In an interview, Yadav stated, “Every party seems to be running their own candidates. The elections are being fought by mafia and criminals. Newcomers have surpassed the integrity of all parties. Those with wealth and a history of violence are now part of the race, and tickets are being awarded to individuals with criminal backgrounds, including those accused of sexual assault. This situation is concerning.”
Yadav also expressed his dismay over the flood situation in Bihar, highlighting a lack of support for the affected citizens. He noted that while states like Assam, Gujarat, and Punjab extend help during crises, the people of Bihar are often neglected. “From the Chief Minister to MPs and MLAs, everyone is turning their backs on the public,” he remarked.
He further emphasized the dire situation in Chapra, where he claimed that residents have been without food for four days. “I spent three nights there myself,” he added, underlining the urgency of the humanitarian crisis.
Additionally, Yadav commented on the respect due to Indian pilot Smita Machhar, stating that every individual deserves recognition, whether they are a president, prime minister, barrister, or scientist. “We must hold the highest respect for our pilots,” he concluded, advocating for a culture of respect and recognition for all.
