No Change in Karnataka Leadership, Asserts Congress Leader K.N. Rajanna

Bengaluru, May 27: Congress leader K.N. Rajanna has put an end to speculation regarding potential changes in the Karnataka state leadership. He firmly stated that there is no question of a leadership change in the state.

During a media interaction at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on Tuesday, Rajanna remarked that both the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister are currently in Delhi. While some individuals may aspire to become ministers or even the Chief Minister, he expressed that he has no such ambitions.

When asked about the possibility of changing the Chief Minister, he clarified that no discussions regarding such a change have taken place. He mentioned that there might be conversations about the Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council elections. Furthermore, the Chief Minister has informed Rahul Gandhi about potential cabinet reshuffles, which could occur after his return from Delhi.

In response to a question about accepting a ministerial position if offered, Rajanna stated that he would accept it if given the opportunity, but he would not regret it if it does not happen.

Amidst the ongoing speculation about leadership changes in Karnataka, a high-stakes meeting was held on Tuesday at Indira Bhavan in Delhi, attended by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah’s office released images showing him and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar engaged in deep discussions at Indira Bhavan, further fueling speculation.

The outcomes of this meeting are eagerly awaited. Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar is considered a strong contender for the Chief Minister position. Siddaramaiah has repeatedly expressed his desire to complete his term but has also stated that he will adhere to the party leadership’s decisions.

Ministers and legislators from the Siddaramaiah camp have demanded that if there is a leadership change, G. Parameshwara, the state’s Home Minister from the Dalit community, should be appointed as Chief Minister.
