Chief Minister Mohan Yadav Congratulates Hemant Khandelwal on One Year as State BJP President

Bhopal, July 2: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav congratulated state BJP president Hemant Khandelwal on Thursday for completing one year in office. He praised Khandelwal’s leadership and his contributions to strengthening the party organization.

In a message, the Chief Minister noted that Khandelwal’s simplicity, dedication to the organization, and effective work methods have inspired party workers.

Wishing him well, CM Mohan Yadav stated, “Under your leadership, the organization has reached new heights in the past year, and our ideology has become stronger.”

Senior BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya also extended his congratulations to Khandelwal on this occasion.

Vijayvargiya remarked that Khandelwal’s disciplined work ethic, organizational skills, and experience have infused new energy into the party.

He expressed confidence that under Khandelwal’s guidance, the organization will continue to achieve new milestones and wished him good health and ongoing success.

Khandelwal assumed the role of Madhya Pradesh BJP president in July last year, succeeding VD Sharma, who led the party’s state unit for over four years while serving as a Member of Parliament from Khajuraho.

During his tenure, Khandelwal initiated several organizational efforts, including regular interactions between cabinet ministers and party workers, as well as direct engagement with party members during disputes.

He also played an active role in defending the party during politically sensitive issues. Recently, when the opposition targeted Chief Minister Mohan Yadav over allegations related to land purchases, Khandelwal was the first BJP leader to come to his defense.

Khandelwal hails from a family with a long-standing association with the party. He is the son of the late Vijay Khandelwal, a founding member of the BJP who represented the Betul parliamentary constituency four times.

Khandelwal was elected to the Lok Sabha in the 2008 by-election and later entered state politics after the Betul parliamentary seat was reserved for Scheduled Tribes following the delimitation process.

He was elected as an MLA in 2013 and served as the state treasurer of the BJP before taking over as party president on July 2, 2025.
