Patna, March 5: Santosh Kumar Suman, Bihar’s Minister of Minor Water Resources and National President of the Hindustani Awam Morcha, congratulated Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on being nominated as the JD(U) candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections. He expressed his best wishes for the nomination process.
Suman remarked that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has redefined Bihar’s politics through his impeccable image, good governance, and welfare-oriented mindset. Under his leadership, significant initiatives have been taken to empower women and promote the development of Dalits and marginalized communities, providing opportunities for those at the bottom of society to join the mainstream.
He emphasized that Kumar’s extensive political experience, balanced perspective, and commitment to public welfare will guide national policy-making in the Rajya Sabha. This leadership will amplify Bihar’s aspirations and issues on a national platform.

Meanwhile, Mukesh Sahni, leader of the Vikassheel Insaan Party, described Kumar’s move to the Rajya Sabha as part of the BJP’s strategy, asserting that this reflects the true nature of the BJP. He stated that during the elections, it was clear that the BJP would never allow Kumar to remain Chief Minister, and if they did, it would only be until 2025-2030. Today, the reality is evident to all.
Sahni, a former minister in Bihar, claimed that the BJP employs similar strategies not only in Bihar but also in other states, consistently working to undermine its allies. He alleged that the BJP’s true aim is to eliminate JD(U) as a political party. He pointed out that the mandate in the last Bihar Assembly elections was in favor of Nitish Kumar, and the NDA’s decision disrespects both the mandate and public sentiment. The people of Bihar will never forgive the BJP for this.
