Nitin Naveen to Lead Key Meeting for Punjab BJP Leaders in New Delhi

New Delhi, June 12: A crucial meeting will be held in New Delhi to strengthen the Indian National Congress (BJP) organization in Punjab and prepare for the upcoming assembly elections. The meeting will be led by BJP President Nitin Naveen and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Scheduled for 6:00 PM at the BJP headquarters, the meeting will see the participation of Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon, former President Sunil Jakhar, and State Organization Minister Srinivas. Nitin Naveen, Amit Shah, and Organization General Secretary B.L. Santosh, along with Tarun Chugh, are also expected to attend.

Earlier, on Thursday, Amit Shah and Nitin Naveen held a similar meeting with the Tamil Nadu BJP team at 6:00 PM. The Tamil Nadu meeting focused on strategies to strengthen the BJP’s grassroots presence amid changing circumstances in the state.

In a related development, Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon wrote to Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J.P. Nadda, requesting timely and adequate supply of DAP (Di-Ammonium Phosphate) and urea in the state.

In his letter, Dhillon referenced a meeting with J.P. Nadda on June 6, where the availability of DAP and urea for Punjab’s farmers was discussed in detail. With the paddy sowing season underway, he emphasized the urgent need for action given the seriousness of the situation.

He highlighted Punjab’s critical role in national food security, noting that during the paddy sowing months of June and July, many districts and retail centers face shortages of DAP and urea. This often forces farmers to wait in long queues at cooperative societies and fertilizer sales centers, delaying sowing and adversely affecting crop production, water usage, and government procurement systems.

Dhillon also pointed out that fertilizer shortages lead to hoarding and black marketing, forcing farmers to pay above the Maximum Retail Price (MRP), further exacerbating their financial difficulties.
