Bhopal, August 30: The dream of modern technology is about to become a reality for promising students in Madhya Pradesh who scored 75% or more in their 12th-grade examinations. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will transfer ₹25,000 to approximately 1.22 lakh eligible students for purchasing laptops.
This financial assistance will be distributed during a laptop distribution event on September 1 at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Center in Bhopal. This initiative is part of the School Education Department’s Talent Student Incentive Scheme.
Launched in 2009-10, the scheme aims to encourage talented students and provide them with essential digital tools for higher education. Eligible students who pass the Madhya Pradesh Board’s 12th-grade examination with at least 75% marks will receive a cash incentive of ₹25,000 directly into their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The government does not provide laptops directly; instead, students can use this amount to purchase their preferred device.
This year, around 1.22 lakh students across the state will benefit from this initiative, with a total of over ₹304.98 crore being transferred to their accounts. More than 4 lakh students have received assistance from this scheme so far, with the state government spending over ₹1,000 crore on it in recent years.
Officials stated that this financial aid will help students access online resources, digital course materials, e-learning platforms, and other necessary technological tools for academic advancement. By bridging the digital divide, this program aims to empower promising youth and prepare them for higher education and the demands of the modern economy.
The incentive amount will be formally transferred during the event at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Center on September 1. The state government has described this initiative as a significant step towards recognizing the academic achievements of talented students and connecting them with modern technology.
