New Delhi, February 18: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has apprehended a fugitive linked to the banned organization Popular Front of India (PFI) upon his return from the United Arab Emirates. The arrest took place at Cochin International Airport.

The accused has been identified as Moideen Kutty P.K., a resident of Kattiparuthi in Malappuram district, Kerala. He is reported to be the coordinator for PFI’s physical education training.

According to the NIA, he fled the country shortly after a case was registered in September 2022. During the investigation, the agency conducted raids at his known locations, uncovering numerous objectionable documents and digital evidence.

This case is associated with allegations that PFI and its officials conspired to incite communal discord among various communities and radicalize youth. The agency claims that the organization was working on strategies to train young people in weapon handling and fund violent activities.

The NIA alleges that the long-term objective of this conspiracy was to establish Islamic rule in India by 2047. The investigation revealed that PFI had created units such as ‘Reporters Wing,’ ‘Physical and Arms Training Wing,’ and ‘Service Teams’ to operate its activities.

The agency accuses the organization of using its campuses and other facilities to provide weapon training to selected cadres under the guise of physical training and yoga classes.

So far, the NIA has filed charges against 65 accused individuals in this case. The agency stated that further investigations are ongoing, and efforts are being made to locate other fugitives.

Previously, on February 13, the NIA filed a charge sheet against an accused named Imtathullah, who was alleged to have sheltered attackers and conspirators involved in the murder of Ramalingam. In March 2019, members of the banned organization PFI brutally killed Ramalingam.
