NDAs 150th Course Passing Out Parade Set for May 30 in Pune

Pune, May 20: The National Defence Academy (NDA), India’s prestigious tri-service training institution, is set to host the grand passing out parade for its 150th course on May 30 at the historic Khetarpal Parade Ground in Khadakwasla, Pune. The ceremony will be reviewed by the Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi.

This event is a moment of pride and emotion for cadets, their families, instructors, and the armed forces. According to the Ministry of Defence, approximately 355 cadets from the Army, Navy, and Air Force will graduate from the academy during the Spring Term 2026 parade. This ceremony symbolizes the successful completion of rigorous military, academic, and leadership training. The NDA’s 150th course convocation ceremony will take place a day earlier, on May 29, at Habibullah Hall in Pune.

The Ministry of Defence has announced that retired IPS officer Kiran Bedi will be the chief guest at the event, addressing the graduating cadets. The NDA is recognized as the country’s premier tri-service military training institution, providing comprehensive training in military skills, academics, ethics, and character development. Under the leadership of Commandant Vice Admiral Anil Jaggi, the academy continues its proud tradition of preparing the nation’s future military leaders.

The passing out parade will feature impressive military marches and inspections of troops, alongside the distribution of medals and awards, fly-pasts by military aircraft and helicopters, and the traditional ‘final step’ ceremony. This event showcases the rigorous and disciplined training of the Indian armed forces.

Additionally, the Indian Army has commenced a significant multinational military exercise named ‘Pragati 2026.’ This exercise, organized by the Indian Army, began on Wednesday at the Umroi Military Station in Meghalaya. Military contingents from 12 friendly nations, including Bhutan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam, are participating in this two-week-long exercise.

Focused on counter-terrorism operations in semi-hilly and forested areas, the training program will involve joint planning, tactical-level exercises, and coordinated operations. These efforts aim to enhance the adaptability, endurance, and tactical efficiency of soldiers from various countries.
