New Delhi, August 29: Muslim leader Sajid Rashidi has raised concerns regarding various issues surrounding the RSS, including Mohan Bhagwat’s event in New York, an alleged ISI espionage network, a controversy over Malala Yousafzai’s book reading in Ahmedabad, language disputes in Maharashtra, and a complaint against Rahul Gandhi. Rashidi questioned the ideology and activities of the RSS and called for swift legal action in the alleged espionage cases.
Regarding Bhagwat’s New York event, Rashidi expressed doubts about the organizational structure and public image of the RSS. He noted that protests against the RSS have emerged both domestically and internationally over time. Citing Bhagwat’s various statements, he mentioned that differing perceptions about the RSS lead to questions about the organization both within India and abroad.
On the recent arrest of an alleged ISI spy in Delhi, Rashidi stated that investigative agencies should act promptly in such cases. If an individual is found guilty of espionage activities, legal proceedings should be expedited.
Commenting on the alleged assault of individuals reading Malala Yousafzai’s book in Ahmedabad, Rashidi pointed out that India has many personalities whose lives and thoughts can be studied. He expressed objections to reading Malala’s book, citing the tense relations between India and Pakistan, and demanded strict action in this matter.
In response to the ongoing dispute involving Hindi speakers and auto-rickshaw drivers in Maharashtra, Rashidi criticized the government’s stance. He emphasized that Mumbai is a city for people from various parts of the country, and every citizen has the right to seek employment anywhere. Discrimination based on language should not lead to violence or attempts to deprive individuals of their livelihoods. The government must take stringent action in such cases.
Regarding the complaint against Rahul Gandhi by Nazia Khan, Rashidi referenced the complainant’s alleged past controversies and questioned her credibility. He asserted that political leaders’ statements should be addressed through political and legal means.
Rashidi characterized Gandhi’s remarks on Manusmriti as a political issue, stating that every political party engages in politics with its voters in mind. He also urged the government to investigate the allegations against the complainant and assess her legal standing.
