Mumbai, April 14: NCP (SP) leader Naseem Siddiqui has expressed concerns over Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s resignation, stating that a personality like Kumar will fade into the shadows of Delhi. In a conversation in Mumbai, Siddiqui remarked that Kumar is now reaping the consequences of his own actions. He suggested that had Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu made the right decisions two years ago, Kumar could have been the Deputy Prime Minister of India today.
Siddiqui further elaborated on Kumar’s current predicament, saying he finds himself in a situation where he has lost everything—neither gaining divine favor nor achieving his goals. He emphasized that the BJP has successfully executed its plans, leaving Kumar to face the fallout of his choices. According to Siddiqui, Kumar’s political power in Bihar is now permanently diminished.
Targeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Siddiqui accused him of dishonesty, likening his behavior to that of a cat drinking milk with closed eyes. He claimed that Shah is aware of the Election Commission’s compromised integrity, alleging that Gyanesh Kumar is acting as Shah’s agent within the commission. Siddiqui criticized the Election Commission for being fully corrupt, asserting that it now operates under the directives of the Home Ministry rather than the Supreme Court.
Siddiqui highlighted the importance of voter engagement in democracies worldwide, noting that Rajiv Gandhi had lowered the voting age from 21 to 18 to encourage youth participation. He criticized the current Modi government for allegedly reducing the voter base by millions, stating that instead of promoting democracy, the government is undermining it. He described the elections as puppetry, manipulated by the government, with voters who oppose the regime being removed from the rolls.
On Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, Siddiqui remarked that this day is crucial for India’s Constitution and freedom. He expressed gratitude for having a figure like Ambedkar, who crafted one of the world’s finest constitutions.
Challenging the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Siddiqui referenced Ambedkar’s belief in religious freedom in a diverse nation. He accused the BJP of attempting to instill fear among Muslims under the guise of UCC. He challenged the party to unite the 85% majority of the Bahujan community, upper castes, and Dalits without Muslims, suggesting that if they succeed, he would encourage Muslims to accept the UCC.
Regarding women’s safety, Siddiqui lamented the ongoing violence against women in India, citing incidents like the Unnao rape case and the recent attacks on Haryana’s medal-winning daughters. He condemned the government’s failure to ensure women’s safety, recalling the infamous Nirbhaya case that occurred during its tenure.
