Beijing, April 15: The 8th issue of ‘Qiaoshi’ magazine, set to be published on April 16, will feature an important article by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, President, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission. The article is titled “Promoting Nationwide Reading and Building a Book-Loving Society.”
According to the article, “Reading is a vital way for humanity to acquire knowledge, enhance intelligence, and develop morality. It can inspire thought and help people establish higher ideals. We must encourage reading, create a society that values it, and continuously elevate the ideological level of the people while strengthening their spiritual power, so that the spiritual world of the Chinese nation can be deeper and richer.”
The article further states, “Communists should make reading Marxist texts and understanding Marxist theories an integral part of their lives and spiritual practice. We need to read more books, and read good books, to gain knowledge and nourishment from them. Digital reading should be integrated with traditional reading, while also preserving our core values and literacy. We should build a society and nation where everyone engages in lifelong learning, promoting the comprehensive development of individuals.”
